Tree for Boston at Citadel Hill - stock photo
Halifax, Canada - November 13, 2013: The Nova Scotia Tree for Boston is hauled past the Old Town Clock on Citadel Hill as it leaves Halifax bound for Boston. Since 1971 the Lunenburg County Christmas Tree Producers Association and the Nova Scotia Government have made the annual donation of a large tree to promote Christmas tree exports as well as to acknowledge Boston's support after the devastating Halifax Explosion in 1918. The tree will be decorated for the public on Boston Common during a tree lighting event on December 5th, 2013.
