Scorpion attitude - stock photo
A common and small Staphylinid beetle (Stenus sp., about 4mm long) often found hunting on wet ground along a ditch. Many Staphylinidae are capable of lifting their abdomen upwards, which gives them a bit of a scorpion attitude. They are of course totally harmless. Notice the phoretic mites on the lower part of the body.
