Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer of New York says at a news conference amid reports that newly confirmed Secretary Linda McMahon was moving to abolish the Department of Education under a possible executive order by President Trump that public schools were the bedrock of our country, and though he attended them himself—specifically Madison High School and PS 197—they did not always succeed, but with 90 percent of American students enrolled in public schools, every single district suffered because of what Donald Trump did as he used children's education money to give tax breaks to his billionaire buddies and looked to find any money he could.
