Displaced Gazans scramble for hot meal amid worsening hunger crisis

GAZA CITY, GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - APR, 29: A humanitarian organization distributed food to displaced Palestinians on Wednesday, Apr. 29, in Gaza City. Dozens of Palestinians, including children, crowded around the distribution point, hoping to receive a portion of food. Many walked for miles and waited hours under harsh conditions to bring something home to their families, as hunger deepens across the besieged enclave. Gaza’s 2.4 million residents rely almost entirely on humanitarian aid, which has been cut off since Israel closed the Kerem Shalom, Zikim, and Erez crossings on March 2. The Israeli army renewed its assault on Gaza on March 18, shattering a Jan. 19 ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with the resistance group Hamas.
