Music: Damon Albarn interview; Part 2 of 2ENGLAND:INTDamon Albarn (Musician, Blur and Gorillaz) interview SOTQ: SOME MUSICIANS HAVE SEEN IT AS THEIR DUTY TO SPEAK UP- Duty, well I think it's good to have a sense of duty in life / my grandfather was a conscientious objector, my father was a conscientious objector and I am a conscientious objectorQ: IT'S RARE NOW FOR MUSICIANS TO SPEAK UP ABOUT THINGS THEY CARE ABOUT, WHY DO YOU THINK THAT IS- I think the connection with every day life and reality for some people gets more and more tenuous / our culture gives us so much information and yet it gives us not enough emotional information / I was speaking from my heart when I said that / I think the key to preventing wars and keeping some sort of balance on this planet is through communication, and as a musician I choose to communicate through musicQ: HAVE YOU EVER BEEN INFLUENCED BY ANY GREAT MUSICIANS OR ARTISTS WHO MADE SUCH PUBLIC STANDS ON PUBLIC ISSUES- Yeah, some of them are less public but maybe more fundamental / bands like Can and Kraftwerk, blues, reggae.
