It is directly opposite Buffalo State University and the Burchfield Penney Art Center. It is named after three major donors. The main building was intended to open in 1901 as the Fine Arts Pavilion for the Pan-American Exposition. However, delays in its construction caused the structure to remain uncompleted until 1905.
