Willemstad, Curaçao - May 3, 2023 : The country houses, mansions of Curaçao (called: Landhuis), built in the 17th till 19th centuries, are usually former plantation houses. There used to be about 100 such small plantations on Curaçao. This country house was built at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Above the south entrance are three dormer windows of a later date; the middle window is marked Año 1870.Plantations in West Curaçao are on Unesco's tentative list of world heritage.
