Northern Bobwhite Quail On A Fence Post - Colinus virginianus - stock photo

A beautiful Northern Bobwhite Quail perched confidently on a fence post aling Joe Overstreet Road in Kenansville in southern Osceola County south of St. Cloud on the shores of Lake Kissimmee. The quail is fringed by a sprig of a very pretty flowering garnish. The photo is a shallow depth with a wide open aperture to provide a buttery smooth background. "The northern bobwhite's range extends from southern Maine and Ontario south to Florida and west to the eastern fringes of Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. Isolated populations inhabit eastern Washington, western Idaho, and northwestern Oregon. Populations of northern bobwhite have been introduced to parts of Hawaii and southern British Columbia"
