Electric Locomotive Model
(Original Caption) This is a model of one of two electric locomotives which have been ordered by the Great Northern Railway of General Electric for delivery late in 1946. They will be used on the 73 mile electrified section of the main line in the Cascades between Wenatchee and Shykomish, Washington. Power plants will develop 5,000 horsepower for the locomotives, the world's largest single-cab type. They will cost approximately $500,000 each.
