Bean, lunar module pilot and rescuemen await helicopter pickup during recovery operations following a safe splashdown, on November 24, 1969, approximately 350 nautical miles southeast of Samoa. An Apollo / Saturn V space vehicle launched them from the Kennedy Space Center, on November 14, 1969, on the Apollo 12 United States' second manned lunar landing mission.
