Racing Driver Frank Newton Wins Century Stakes At Brooklands
Racing driver Frank Newton winning the Century Stakes at Brooklands Motor Racing Circuit near Weybridge, England, circa July 1907. The first race meeting on the new track was held on 6th July 1907 when six separate races were contested and more than 13,500 people passed through the turnstiles and 500 cars entered the grounds while more cars were parked outside. The day was not altogether successful, however, as few of the races proved exciting and the track's spectator facilities and infrastructure were considered inadequate.
