Eastern Airlines 727, flight 66 at Kennedy Airport. Plane we
UNITED STATES - JUNE 25: Eastern Airlines 727, flight 66 at Kennedy Airport. Plane went down in a thunderstorm, smashing across Rockaway Blvd., and leaving a trail of bodies in its wake. It was a few minutes after 4 in the afternoon, well before the section of Rockaway Blvd. which runs along the north boundry of Kennedy Airport would be clogged with rush-hour traffic. Flight attendants Robert Hoefler, 29 (l) and Mary Ellen Mooney, 28, smile at each other in Long Island Jewish Hospital, Far Rockaway, Queens. They are the only surviving crewmembers in the jet crash that claimed 110 lives Tuesday. Meanwhile, the doleful task of identifying the victims continues.
