Disney was caught in the middle of a political firestorm surrounding a Florida law -- critics have labeled the "Don't Say Gay Law."At first the LBGT community was up in arms the company didn't stand up against the law loud enough. Then when Disney made a stance, conservatives vowed to punish the company for not backing the law. When the dust settled, one thing became apparent. The political winds have NOT reached the happiest place on earth.The iconic company's four Orlando-area theme parks are teeming with guests. The same can be said of the original Disneyland Parks in California. Additionally, vacationers are boarding Disney Cruise Line's two largest cruise ships.But Disney is feeling some political fallout, from the Florida Legislature. Lawmakers voted to repeal the Reedy Creek Improvement District, the governing structure for Disney's Florida properties, a move viewed as punishment against Disney for speaking out against the "Parental Rights in Education Act."The law limits instruction about gender identity and sexual orientation in grades Kindergarten to 3rd.But as for the public backlash… the turnstiles keep on turning.
