Goering Holding Lion Cub

(Original Caption) Today the Lion May Laugh. Berlin, Germany: One of the hobbies of obese Marshal Hermann Goering, who was Number 2 Nazi when the Hitler Gang was at the peak of power, was his collection of wild animals. He kept a miniature zoo on his Karin Hall Estate. Goering, now on trial at Nuremberg for his war crimes, is holding a lion cub here. The animal seems to be laughing. Maybe it could foresee the day when Goering himself would be in a cage. The uniform Hermann wears here is one of his most conservative. ca. 1935.
