This photo taken on May 12, 2023 shows the English garden of the Royal Palace of Caserta, the residence of the Bourbon dynasty near Naples, on the day the palace was awarded its third Michelin Green Guide star, the highest award given to a tourist site. The Royal Palace of Caserta, an architectural jewel near Naples nicknamed "the Italian Versailles", is undergoing a spectacular restoration, partly financed by the European post-pandemic recovery plan. With its 1,200 rooms, 1,742 windows and 123 hectares of gardens, the castle was built by Charles of Bourbon, King of Naples and great-grandson of Louis XIV, from 1752 under the direction of architect Luigi Vanvitelli.
