81st Anniversary Of The Liberation Of Auschwitz In Oswiecim

The site of the Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp in Brzezinka, Poland, on January 27, 2026, marks the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp. Auschwitz is a German Nazi concentration and extermination camp and remains the most recognizable symbol of the Holocaust. Jews from across Europe are murdered there, along with Poles, Roma, Sinti, and Soviet prisoners of war. On January 27, 1945, the Red Army enters the camp, liberating its prisoners.
