Charsteen archaeological site opened to visitors in Duhok

DUHOK, IRAQ - APRIL 27: People visit Charsteen archaeological site including a temple of Zoroastrianism after it was reopened to visitors following restoration works in Duhok, Iraq on April 27, 2025. Located in Gali Duhok, just south of the Duhok Dam, the cave stretches across 6,000 square metres and is several centuries old. Known as Charsteen, it was a sacred site for Zoroastrians, its name symbolizing the four holy elements of their religion: fire, earth, water, and air.
