(Original Caption) 10/26/1951-New York, NY- Rocky Marciano (r) joins in with his trainer Charlie Goldman in some triumphant bellowing in the dressing room after the undefeated Brockton, MA, heavyweight slammed Joe Louis into the ropes for a TKO in 2 minutes, 36 seconds of the eighth round of a scheduled ten-round bout at Madison Square Garden, Oct. 26.It was the third defeat of Louis' 17-year ring career.Referee Ruby Goldstein stopped the contest when Louis hung half out of the ring,to prevent him "from being seriously injured."
