(Original Caption) 9/7/1969-New York, NY- Australia's Margaret Smith Court has a nice big cup to carry back Down Under after defeating Nancy Richey of the United States, 6-2, 6-2, in the Final of the U.S. Women's Open Tennis Championships, Sept. 7th. Mrs. Court, who plans to minimize her competitive tennis from now on in order to undertake the duties of a housewife, also collected a check for $6,000.
