JAN 18 1969, JAN 23 1969 New Postage Meter Has Official Workout The first keyboard postage meter in office-machine history is demonstrated in the office of Denver Postmaster George A. Cavender. The desk-model meter, introduced by Pitney-Bowes, Inc., is operated by service technician Richard Kell, left, and district manager Bernard Newman, right, while Cavender, second from right, and Bill Nickum watch. Total Business Equipment Co., owned by Nickum, was the first Denver firm to obtain one of the new meters from Pitney-Bowes sales office at 780 Grant St. The meter's keyboard is similar to new push-button phones.
