British singer Freddie Mercury (1946-1991), lead vocalist of the rock band Queen, posed with his long-term partner and friend Mary Austin as they attend a Fashion Aid event at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 5th November 1985. Mercury and Austin were in a long-term relationship during the early 1970's and remained close friends after their romantic relationship ended in 1976.
