Fallen gingko tree leaves form golden tunnels in western Tokyo park

Video footage taken on Nov. 16 shows visitors to Showa Kinen Park in western Tokyo strolling among and pausing for photos amid rows of “icho” gingko trees and their fallen leaves that form a seeming tunnel of vivid gold. Straddling Tachikawa and Akishima cities, the park boasts 204 gingko trees aligned in two separate paths stretching over 200 meters. The scene will be lit up for effect from Nov. 23 to 25, after which the fallen leaves will be cleared away. (Ryo Ikeda)
