MADRID, SPAIN - MAY 25: The Casa de Alba Foundation presents "Empress Eugenie" exhibition at the Liria Palace. "The greatest legacy of the Empress Eugenie of the French, wife of Napoleon III, emperor of the French, in Spain", as they have said since the foundation. Liria Palace, residence of the House of Alba in Madrid, is a large 18th century building and main headquarters of House of Alba art collection and historical archive, among them a gallery of portraits of dukes of Alba, painted by Tiziano, Goya, Federico de Madrazo or Joaquín Sorolla. People can visit a dozen rooms located on the ground and first floors of the Palace, including the library, which contains more than 18,000 volumes and which displays bibliographical and documental, such as the Bible of the House of Alba, the only collection of letters written by Christopher Columbus in private hands, the final will of Fernando the Catholic or the first edition of ‘El Quijote’ from Madrid in 1605.
