Light Festival at Battersea Power Station return after three-year hiatus due to pandemic

LONDON, UK - JANUARY 26: The Battersea Power Station Light Festival will begin on January 19th and run until March 5th, 2023, after a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Eight curated works of art from the Light Art Collection will be showcased both indoors and outdoors in the recently renovated retail and leisure spaces, which have been opened to the public after a £1.15 billion renovation. The outdoor installations will be switched on from 8am until 11pm daily, with the installations inside switching off at 10pm. The Battersea Power Station Light Festival will showcase a variety of light installations created by artists from around the world. Visitors can expect to see works such as Atelier Haute Cuisine's enlarged and illuminated bath plug, which aims to raise awareness about the importance of clean water and reducing water waste. Studio Vertigo will also be showcasing an enlarged Slinky toy, encouraging visitors to see the city in a new and playful way. Mads Vegas will be returning to the festival for the third year with his popular installation "Eternal Sundown," which uses 140 energy-efficient LED tubes to create a post-apocalyptic sunset along The Coaling Jetty, with the iconic Battersea Power Station as a backdrop. The majority of the installations will use energy-efficient LED lights in order to minimize energy use. (Footage by Muhammed Yaylalı/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
