Massive grass fire in California forces residents to evacuate
CALIFORNIA, US - JUNE 2: A raging grass fire, known as the corral fire, has swept through San Joaquin County, California, since Saturday afternoon, burning over 11,000 acres of land and prompting mandatory evacuations, authorities report.
The blaze, which started at approximately 2:30 p.m. in Tracy remains only 13% contained as of late Saturday night, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
Crews have been working tirelessly to battle the flames, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
Locals had been cautioned about the possibility of hazardous fire weather conditions, as strong winds, high temperatures, and dry grass could result in a potential wildfire danger.
Residents have also been urged to consider evacuating the area in order to ensure their safety.
