NYC mayor, Al Sharpton kneel for 9 minutes, 29 seconds in memory of George Floyd

NEW YORK, UNITED STATES - MAY 25: New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and civil rights leader Rev. Al Sharpton along with faith leaders have taken a knee for 9 minutes and 29 seconds for George Floyd on anniversary of his death. Former Minneapolis, Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin was videotaped kneeling on Floyd's neck for more than nine minutes before Floyd died in what started as a routine police interaction. The 45-year-old Chauvin was found guilty of second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. Chauvin will be sentenced by the trial judge Peter Cahill on June 25 and could face anywhere from 12 and a half years to 40 years in prison. The ruling makes it more likely Chauvin will face a punishment closer to the higher end. Cahill rejected prosecutors' aggravating factors claims that Floyd was "particularly vulnerable" or that his drug intoxication or being in a prone position on the ground made him "vulnerable." Instead, Cahill decided, the prone position was the mechanism of his death. (Footage by Lokman Vural Elibol/Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
