Congressman Sarbanes press statement on GOP failure to pursue Trump-Russia matters

Maryland Congressman John Sarbanes says at a news conference with House Democrats that few Republicans have a sense of urgency about the exposure to energy infrastructure from two attacks by Russia and other foreign interests that must be an absolute priority, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Neil Chatterjee had talked generically about the issue but not presented any kind of concerted plan or set down members of Congress to hammer out protections. Sarbanes says Republicans had advocated the responsibility to respond to the attacks, but the democracy reform task force was ever vigilant and everybody knows that Russia was attacking United States democracy, concluding that Republicans are needed, particularly in leadership to stand up and make the issue a priority, having held no hearings on the Honest Ads Act instituting social media advertisement disclosure.
