RUSHES: Iain Duncan Smith interview

Iain Duncan Smith interview; ENGLAND: London: Westminster: EXT Iain Duncan Smith MP (Conservative: Chingford and Woodford Green) interview SOT. (Part 3 of 3) - To say we support their concerns this is a two way process It's important for the US to listen We need to come together on the shared areas and how we deal with them It's not just a US issue, the US and UK need to come together We should be able to lead in this as equals - I don't make these arrangements it's not intended as an offence to the Pm We're trying to get the message across the US and UK cooperate together That we share the same common concerns And with the rest of the free world that's what IPAC is about We want to figure out together beyond just the US The world sharing the same view to get different rules in china to stop them Reset that relationship, not getting picked off one by one - It's important for us to recognise We shape our own policy, this first challenge is a more aggressive china which has broken an International treaty with us Imposed a new security law on HK against the exiting law Threatening on the seas and boarder And intolerant regime which has been more aggressive the UK as a global power we need to work with our American and other allies To lead on this to form trade deals and have a principle decision on what China's should be Eyes open we want to trade with China but we do have concerns the way they govern - I've not negotiated with america at all We set up IPAC to bring America into the fold as much as anything else Left and right across the world to look at the challenge we face And to deal with that economically
