López Palace, also usually called the Government Palace or Presidential Palace, is the seat of the government and the presidency of the Republic of Paraguay. It is one of the most emblematic buildings of the Paraguayan capital, Asunción. It was built in neoclassical style with some Palladian influence.
The Palace was declared Treasury of the Asunción Material Cultural Heritage, on the occasion of the election of Asunción as the American Capital of Culture 2009.
The building is located in the center of the city, on Paraguayo Independiente Street, between Ayolas and O'Leary, on the banks of the Bay of Asunción, a geographical accident corresponding to the Paraguay River.
