St. George's seen from Fort George. Built by the French in 1650, St. George's is the capital city of Grenada. This beautiful city, located on a horseshoe-shaped harbor, is surrounded by a hillside of an old volcano crater. The waterfront is lined with elegant colonial buildings and colorful Caribbean style dwellings, restaurants, bar and shops. The center of the city is crossed by steep, narrow streets full of shops and people. In 2004, Hurricane Ivan caused widespread damage in the Caribbean, and Grenada suffered serious economic repercussions. In St. George's are still visible much of the damage to the historical buildings. Canon EOS 5D Mark II
