Table coral, Acropora hyacinthus, growing in shallow water on wire mesh covering protective sea wall built around Komandoo Island, Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives, Indian Ocean. This coral growing on the sea wall was not affected by sea warming, over 30 degrees centigrade for over a month, which occurred in 2016 killing 60% of the coral in the Maldives. All the other Acroora hyacinthus, or table coral, on the reef died in the summer of 2016.
