HONG KONG, CHINA: A worker tugs on the nose of the wreckage of a China Airlines jet as the front third of the plane is lifted by a crane onto a a flatbed truck for removal, 29 August 1999 at Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok airport. After finding it impossible to move the plane in one piece, airport authorites cut it into three sections to facilitate the cleanup. Flight CI642 from Bangkok with 315 people on board flipped over on landing 23 August, leaving three dead and 206 injured. Thirty-one victims remain in hospital, one in critical condition.
