"ALFA BRAVO" Project Rehabilitates Public Space In Lisbon

LISBON, PORTUGAL - MAY 15: "ALFA BRAVO" volunteers paint blocks of the 3.8 km wall connecting Santa Apolónia to the Braço de Prata area in a cadence of contrasting colors taken from the International Maritime Navigation Code on May 15, 2022, in Lisbon, Portugal. Two hundred volunteers and coordinators worked to give life to the project "ALFA BRAVO", a work of participative and aggregative public art of large dimension and visibility to rehabilitate the 3.8 km wall built on occasion of Lisbon Expo 98', commissioned by the Port of Lisbon Association and designed by the Portuguese architect José Deodoro Troufa Real. Conceived by António Guimarães Ferreira and organized by the State of the Art (SOTA), "ALFA BRAVO" revitalizes an area of the city, re-qualifying a public facility in Avenida Infante D.
