LONDON, United Kingdom: British police guard the entrance to the home of former Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko in north London, 24 November 2006. Former spy Alexander Litvinenko was probably poisoned by radioactive polonium 210, British public health body the Health Protection Agency said Friday. Professor Roger Cox, from the HPA's Centre for Radiation, Chemicals and Environmental Hazards, told a central London news conference that a "large quantity" of alpha radiation "probably from a substance called polonium 210" had been detected in Litvinenko's urine.
