Entamoeba histolytica

Under 900X magnification, this photomicrograph of a chorazole black-stained specimen revealed the presence of a cyst of the parasitic organism, Entamoeba histolytica. Although mature cysts of E. histolytica contain four nuclei, in this particular view you can clearly see only two nuclei in the focal plane shown, along with a darkly staining chromatoid body.
