This photograph shows the US Republican party presidential candidate Donald Trump winning against the US Democratic party presidential candidate Kamala Harris by 568 votes to 534 in the final tally of the straw poll at Harry's Bar during an electoral night event following the US presidential election, in Paris, in the early hours of November 6, 2024. The bar, which claims to be the birthplace of the Bloody Mary and favourite haunt of US writer Ernest Hemingway, prides itself on having correctly predicted the outcome of the US Presidential election all but three times in one hundred years with its traditional "straw poll". The poll which first started in 1924 to give Americans living in Paris, who at the time could not vote by proxy, the opportunity to take part in a ballot.
