Ukraine - Military - Russian Fleet on the Black Sea
The Russian fleet in Ukraine consists of some 50-odd vessels. Ukraine said this year it will not extend the contract with Russia for continued stationing of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the country after 2017. Political analysts say the mainly Russian-speaking Crimea Peninsula, where the Sevastopol base is located, could become the Black Sea region's next flashpoint after Georgia.
