Inspecting NASA's Space Telescope Mirror
The primary mirror for the Hubble Space Telescope uses ultra-low-expansion glass and a thin film of aluminium to reflect a spectrum of radiation from ultraviolet to near-infrared. From there, it beams it to a smaller mirror behind it and back out through a hole in the primary lens, where the confining beam finally shines onto scientific instrumentation.
