HYBE, SLOVAKIA-JUNE 2008: The mountainous region of North East Slovakia is an area of outstanding natural beauty popular with skiers in the winter and walkers and cyclists in the summer. The 236 farmers from the Co-Operative Liptovska Teplicka farm cattle for beef and dairy products, sheep for milk and cheese as well as potatoes and cereals. Picture shows Martin and Eva Piovarci who have produced honey for 20 years in the Hybe area of Slovakia. The honey produced by their 120 'families' of bees is extremely high quality and 5,000 jars are sold each year. A constant menace comes from bears who raid the bee hives looking for honey.
