Stella McCartney, English fashion designer, circa 1998. McCartney, daughter of the late Linda McCartney and Paul McCartney of The Beatles, became interested in fashion as a young teenager and became a student of it at college. In 2001 she set up her own fashion house with Gucci and showed her first collection in Paris. She now helms 51 freestanding stores internationally and has subsequently launched a perfume and skincare line, in addition to lingerie, kids and menswear collections.
