PHILIPPINES-ESTRADA-SECRET BANK ACCOUNT-3
Senate security personnel escort the steel vault containing the controversial bank document belonging to Jose Velarde, the alleged secret bank account of ousted leader Joseph Estrada to the office of the Senate President Aquilino Pimentel for the turnover of documents to the chief of the Ombudsman court in Manila 14 February 2001 to be used as evidence in the plunder case against Estrada. The document showed Estrada allegedly stashed millions of US dollars in ill-gotten wealth in the secret account at the local Equitable PCI Bank and completed drawing them out on the day he was impeached. The documents remained sealed after the aborted impeachment trial of Estrada. AFP PHOTO ROMEO GACAD (Photo by ROMEO GACAD / AFP) (Photo by ROMEO GACAD/AFP via Getty Images)
