BRITAIN-ASTRONOMY-MOON
A red-coloured waning gibbous moon is pictured rising over the residential and office buildings in the Canary Wharf business district, pictured from Primrose Hill in north London on August 20, 2024. Cloud obscured the August 19, 2024, "blue supermoon" phenomena the UK - the unification of a full super Moon and a blue Moon. The term "blue Moon" has nothing to do with colour but refers to the third full Moon in an astronomical season of four. A super Moon, meanwhile, refers to a full Moon that occurs when it is closer to Earth in its orbit, resulting in a slightly larger and brighter appearance.
