CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA - MARCH 6, 2018 - Public swimming pool, Swembad Athlone Pool, in a suburb of Cape Town has been emptied due to local water restrictions. The plant operator, who has operated the chemicals in the public swimming pool since 1997, said he has never seen the pool emptied. Usually, there are more than 1,000 people here on the weekend during the summer."n"u2028Due to Level 5 Water Restrictions the City of Cape Town implemented water saving policies and decreased the number of pools open to the public. Diminishing water supplies have led city officials to warn residents of a "Day Zero" scenario when they have to turn off the taps to the four million inhabitants.
