J.B. Priestly, John Boynton Priestley OM (1894 - 1984): English novelist, playwright, critic and broadcaster. Author of numerous books and plays including The Good Companions (1929), Angel Pavement (1930), An Inspector Calls, An English Journey, in which he vividly described thirties England.
