Peg30 Used To Recreate A Glottis To Restore Voices
BOSTON - JULY 21: Peg30, a bio-material invented by Sandeep Karanajagi, who is an instructor of surgery at Harvard Medical School. The material was used in this case to re-create a glottis (the vocal apparatus of the larynx, consisting of the true vocal cords and the rima glottidis) to restore voice in patients who have suffered vocal cord damage. The product was demonstrated by blowing air through a tube which made the Peg30 glottis to open and contract as the air circulated through it.
