Northern Ireland, Belfast Botanic Gardens, south of the city: outside of the Palm House, one of the greenhouses. Founded in 1828, the garden, then private, was called Royal Belfast Botanical Gardens. The Palm House designed by architect Charles Lanyon and built by Richard Turner between 1939 and 1940. It consists of a dome as well as two wings, a tropical wing and a temperate wing.
