(Original Caption) 4/1/1958-Niles, IL- Golf promoter George May takes a practice drive on the 18th hole at the Tam O'Shanter Country Club, after announcing that he had cancelled his all-American and "world" golf tournaments because of a financial dispute with the professional golfers association about entry fees. May said the fees, which would have amounted to about $30,000, were needed toward the purse fund to keep his twin $150,000 Tam O'Shanter tourneys out of the red.
