(Original Caption) 4/27/1962-New York, NY: Former Yankee clipper Joe DiMaggio gives a wave before saiing for Europe on S.S. France April 27th. He said he was going to visit Russia in May as a tourist. DiMaggio said it was his first ocean crossing by ship and showed newsmen a box of seasick pills. The liner France, a louxurious and the world's longest liner, sailed for Europe April 27th with 1,650 passengers.
