The Dentists Of Tomorrow
New patients being examined in the examination room at the Dental School of the University College Hospital, where full particulars of their dental condition are noted, London, England. More and more girls - as well as boys - are applying for admission to Dental Schools, as students to dentistry, to fill the great shortage of dental surgeons now prevalent. In addition to dentistry, the students are required to take a number of medical subjects. The course lasts four years, and is 'hard slogging' all the time. A good pair of sensitive hands which can feel and direct instruments, a high degree of intelligence, a temperament for indoor-work, good eyes which can work almost constantly in artificial light and a strong constitution are the necessary qualifications for the boys and girls who are training as dentists.
