Heart, Anatomy

Model Of The Intern Anatomy Of The Chest Of An Adult Human Body, Face On. At The Thoracic Level, The Intern Structure Of The Heart And The Lungs Is Depicted. The Bronchial Tree In White, Shown In The Left Lung, Consists Of The Lobar And Segmental Bronchi, And Then The Bronchioles And Terminal Bronchioles. The Lung Blood Circulation Is Composed Of The Pulmonary Arteries In Blue, Carrying The Deoxygenated Blood To The Alveoli, And The Pulmonary Veins In Red, Which Send Back The Oxygenated Blood To The Heart. The Right Lung, Divided In Three Lobes, Is Depicted In Frontal Section; The Bronchial Tree And The Blood Vessels Appear For That Reason In Sections. The Heart Contains Four Cavities: Two Atriums In Its Upper Part, And Two Ventricles In Its Lower Part. The Atriums Are Covered Anteriorly By The Auricles In Nude, Which Increase Their Blood Capacity. The Ventricles In Light Orange Have Superficial Grooves The Sulci, In Amber Yellow, That Contains Fat And The Coronary Circulation, Feeding The Heart Muscle. At The Boundary Between The Right Atrium And Ventricle, The Coronary Sulcus Receives The Anterior Cardiac Vein In Royal Blue And The Right Coronary Artery In Red. In The Anterior Interventricular Sulcus, Which Marks The Boundary Between Both Ventricles, Lie The Great Cardiac Vein In Royal Blue And The Anterior Interventricular Branch Of Left Coronary Artery In Red. The Right And Left Internal Jugular Veins In Royal Blue Begin At The Base Of The Skull, Go Down On Both Sides Of The Throat To Reach The Clavicles, Where They Join Up With The Subclavian Veins Coming From The Upper Limbs To Form The Brachiocephalic Trunk. The Latter Flows Into The Superior Vena Cava In Royal Blue, Which Brings The Deoxygenated Blood Coming From The Upper Part Of The Body, To The Right Half Of The Heart. This Dark Blood Goes Through The Right Atrium And Ventricle, Then Is Propeled To The Lung (Photo By BSIP/UIG Via Getty Images)
